The work of the Partnership can be spilt into three areas:-
Core Services With its unique position over other providers, there are two sets of core services that we can deliver to achieve our aims:-
strategic analysis of Moray Firth management issues (the work of the Strategic Group falls under this core service) and
facilitation in support of area or sector based sustainable planning and management initiatives.

Projects

| Community Grant Scheme |
Applications can be made for grants of up to £1,000 to assist local, community projects that are based on the coast or sea of the Moray Firth. Continuation of this popular grants scheme will be subject to successful funding. Details of previous and a sample of final reports and images can be viewed on line. |
| Moray Firth Special Area of Conservation Revision 2 |
Focussed on the implementation of the management guidelines for the MF SAC, dolphin and sandbank interest. |
| Moray Firth Gansey Project |
Coming Soon....this project focuses on the tradition of gansey hand knitting among the Moray Firth’s fishing communities as a way of introducing the craft – and the area’s wider fishing heritage – to new audiences. It has huge scope to involve a range of different participants and audiences in different ways and to provide a lasting legacy and continuing socio-economic benefits for the Moray Firth area. Coming Soon....how can Moray Firth communities and businesses work together to reduce the numbers of plastic carrier bags used, or ultimately phase them out altogether? |
| Sustainable Marine Tourism |
Coming Soon....towards marine planning and sustainable marine tourism & recreation development in the Moray Firth ... a project to provide up to date information about the uses and resources of the firth to enable well informed contribution towards future marine planning issues, including marine and coastal recreation. |

| Moray Firth Flotilla |
A flotilla of traditional boats sailing around the coast from Wick to Portsoy, calling at a number of ports over the course of a week. |
| Nortrail/Moray Firth Trail |
Spectacular scenery, great coastal walks and interesting things to see and do for all the family - the Moray Firth Trail looks set to become part of our “natural health service” |
| Fisheries Action Group |
The MFFAG was established by the Moray Firth Partnership to provide a neutral forum to discuss a range of issues affecting fishing in the Firth, from seals to fisheries stocks and windfarms. |
| Cromarty Firth Data Project |
A project aimed at meeting the demand for better access to information about the Cromarty Firth and for a more positive and proactive approach to development in the area. |
| Hands Across the Firth |
An innovative project aiming to improve access to the Firths heritage and link heritage projects. The first of the basket of heritage projects to be developed is the gansey project. More informaiton will feature soon. |
| Adding Value to Local Produce |
A conference to explore how we can build new opportunities to add value to our local marine produce |

Funded by the BG group, the newsletter provides lively and current information about the Moray Firth’s dolphins. |

The Dolphin Defenders campaign won a gold award in the charity/not for profit category and silver in the Best Community Campaign of the Chartered Institute of PR Scotland Pride Awards.
The Scottish Executive successully put forward Dolphin Defenders for the ASCOBANS (Agreement on the Conservation of Small Cetaceans in the Baltic and North Seas), award for 'cetacean conservation related PR/educational initiatives' .
