NAIRN TO FRASERBURGH COAST
The southern coastline of the Moray Firth displays great variety of landforms and habitats. From the sheltered estuary of Spey Bay, the windswept sand dunes of Culbin, and the rocky headlands on the outer section of the coast there are many different areas for wildlife.
This coast has seen a long history of fishing with that history written in the villages and ports dotted all along the coast. Fishing continues today, with Buckie, Macduff, Lossiemouth and Fraserburgh being the main fishing ports.
The coastline is also of great geological and geomorphological interest and has yielded many important fossil finds.
