COASTAL HABITATS
The effects of wind and waves, combine with different rock types, to form a wide variety of habitats in the Moray Firth. There are exposed cliffs, rocky beaches, shingle shores, and sheltered sandy and muddy bays. These different habitats are home to many different marine and coastal animals and plants, which have adopted a variety of interesting ways of coping with the problems of living in their particular environment.
